Nate Christenson began his photography career 17 years ago when a passion for snowboarding led him to the purchase of a camera to help document the sport that his life revolved around. With a natural eye and a love of pictures he quickly began making a name for himself with magazines such as Snowboarder and Transworld Snowboarding. As the sport progressed so did Nate's photography. In 2003 he landed a job as Staff Photographer for DC Shoes. Over the next 6 years, Nate documented snowboarding, motocross and BMX all over the world, shooting some of the best athletes each sport had to offer.
Progressing as a photographer and broadening his spectrum of work and clients has always been a driving force for Nate in his career. On a trip out to Los Angeles he was introduced to Nic Adler, the owner of the Roxy Theater in Hollywood. With a love of music and an opportunity to shoot at such a historic venue Nate began makin the trip from Salt Lake City to Hollywood to cover bands and events such as Social Distortion, Christina Aguilera, Billy idol and The Pussyat Dolls. Once again he turned his passion into work and has been featured in galleries for the Sunset Strip Music festival and SXSW in Austin, TX.
Nate currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah and has a studio there where he focuses on commercial photography. He still spends time with brands in the action sports industry and regularly makes the trip out to Hollywood to spend time at the Roxy and other venues along the Sunset Strip. Always looking to the future while enjoying the moment at hand seems to be fitting for Nate.
